Who is “Meals” ?
Amelia “Meals” McHugh is the owner and founder of McHugh Momentum, where she works with elite girls lacrosse athletes to maximize their potential, build confidence, and navigate the collegiate recruiting process. Over the course of her career, she has guided 56 athletes amongst D1, 2 & 3 collegiate opportunities through a structured, individualized, and results-driven approach.
Amelia currently serves as the full-time Recruiting Director for 3D Lacrosse and is the head coach at Portsmouth High School in Rhode Island, her alma mater. During her eight-year tenure, she has led the program to a state championship, three state final appearances, and four Final Four appearances, establishing Portsmouth as one of the most consistent programs in the state.
Her lacrosse career began at Portsmouth High School, where she earned All-American honors as a defender. She grew up immersed in the club lacrosse environment, competing with Metacomets Lacrosse Club and Team Real, before continuing her playing career at Plymouth State University.
At the national level, Amelia is a co-director of the Excelsior Event, a four-time New Balance All-America coach, and a three-time 3D National Coach, contributing to the development of elite talent across the country.
Outside of lacrosse, Amelia works in marketing in Boston, applying the same strategic thinking, leadership, and performance mindset to her professional career as she does to her coaching.
Through McHugh Momentum, Amelia is committed to empowering athletes to trust their development, take ownership of their recruiting journey, and find college programs that align with both their athletic goals and personal values.
Meals is SO excited to work with YOU and build your future, YOUR way!
